The timeline of our journey so far…

April 2024

We are delighted to have secured an exhibitor’s stall at the Droombos Night Market on Friday 5 April. Please join us for an evening of family fun, food, drinks and shopping. Pop by stall 8 in the courtyard area to find out about our charity and the work we do and browse through our super cute handmade, crocheted baby items. All proceeds from market sales and donations go directly towards our food bank to help us prepare for the winter months. Please support us if you can. See you there!

January 2024

We are delighted to have had such generous support from Epiroc Mining Namibia who sponsored our food parcel distribution in full this month! We are very grateful and THANK the Epiroc team for their commitment to making a difference in our communities.

January 2024

Our first activity for 2024 was a cook out for the children living in the Kavuki community in Rehoboth. We were happy to provide some nutritious food and a healthy snack to over 80 children in the area. Thank you to our dedicated volunteers for making this possible.

December 2023

Last year we hosted the party for 60 children at the hospital in Windhoek which was mainly sponsored by Nammed Medical Aid and this year we were blessed with sponsorship from CIC Trade Promoters, Namibia Dairies, PicknPay Supermarket and cash donations from private individuals who wish to remain anonymous. This year there were 90 children eagerly awaiting their visit from Santa. Santa handed out a gift bag of toiletry items and treats to each of the children. All the children on the ward are very sick -many of them are abandoned at the hospital and some cannot be discharged due to either the poverty situations at home or they are orphaned. We are very happy to have spread some festive cheer to the children, their moms and the nurses.

December 2023
This year our Christmas card cover was exclusively designed for Help4Nam by Mist and Shadow (Artworks by Gerrard Isherwood) - a small business created by Gerrard to showcase how art can be used as a form of therapy to help with physical and mental struggles and rehabilitation. Gerrard uses his creative art therapy to raise awareness of unseen disabilities and mental health. Gerrard is proud to support our charity in this way as he has fond memories of his time living and working in Namibia and we love how he has chosen the Oryx, Namibia's national animal, walking in the desert, to depict the magic of Christmas in an African setting.

Happy Birthday Help4Nam!

While we have been in operation since 2020, 29 Sept marked HFN Charity Organisation's st Anniversary of becoming a registered Section21 non-profit org in Namibia. We commemorated the milestone with a jam packed community outreach programme- Our volunteers and their helpers teamed up with local soupkitchen initiatives by hosting cook outs in Okahandja and Rehoboth while the children at a kindergarten in Windhoek were treated to birthday cake!

Three colleagues at Cardinal Global Logistics took on the Tough Mudder Challenge for charity on Sunday 10 September!

They've done it! Jay Paisley, Niall McEnery and Rokas Liaundanskas completed the 5km Challenge for our charity and can now wear their headbands with pride!

We say a very big "THANK YOU" to each and every one of you that made a donation in support of the team. Together, they raised a whopping £580 for our charity! This will go directly towards our food parcel distribution- feeding children in some of the poorest households in central Namibia.

July 2023

For the month of July, we were able to distribute another 50 food and toiletry parcels to households in the most impoverished areas of central Namibia (Okahandja, Rehoboth and Windhoek). This was mainly made possible thanks to a donation received from Urenco Global. An employee, James Widlake nominated our charity to receive the donation. James says he has fond memories of his time living and working in Namibia years ago and was happy to nominate us due to his personal connection with the country.

Rosie Salkeld – Social Impact Lead at Urenco says “Sustainability is integral to everything we do at Urenco. As well as making a social impact in areas local to our sites, our community donations support causes that resonate with colleagues. We wish Help4Nam every success and are pleased to have been able to help.”

We say a huge THANK YOU to both James for nominating us and the Urenco donations panel for supporting us in this way.

June 2023

We are now Gift Aid registered !That means we can claim an extra 25p on every £1 donated as a tax payer in the UK- at no extra cost to you.

Simply tick the declaration boxes at checkout when you make a donation. Thank you!

Preventing Charity Fraud!

Fraud is an ever-evolving and increasing criminal threat to society. No organisation – charitable or otherwise – can make itself completely immune to fraud but it can take steps to minimise the risks. Help4Nam is committed to doing precisely that, which is why we have signed the Fraud Pledge.

By taking the pledge we are showing that we work actively to prevent fraud, wherever it might occur in our organisation. We are now entitled to use the Fraud Pledge badge on our website, newsletters and printed materials. It will help us build trust among donors, funders and beneficiaries by providing us with a visible demonstration that we take the protection of our assets very seriously.

We also distribute another 62 food parcels across our network in Windhoek, Rehoboth and Okahandja. This includes parcels to Gammams Primary School and Smilies Daycare in Katutura.
